About The Book
A Journey Through Trauma & Grief is a multi-generational poetic archive that bridges the gap between the hurt child and the healed adult.

Inside the Collection:

Part 1: The Early Years (Adolescence): Written when Laurie was just 13 to 15 years old, these poems depict the dark reality of foster care, family dysfunction, and deep solitude. Saved by her brother in a binder for over twenty-five years, these restored pieces serve as the foundational root of her story.

Part 2: The Older Years (Adulthood): Written between the ages of 40 and 43, these poems chronologically detail her journey through healing from domestic abuse, confronting intergenerational trauma, mourning the loss of her father and uncle, and ultimately stepping into a peaceful, loving new chapter
